Grand-Daughter of Former PM Hideki Tojo, To Run For Diet Seat
From the Sankei Shimbun [archive]:
On the 7th it was learned that grand-daughter of former PM Hideki Tojo, Yuko Tojo (67) has decided to run for an office in the House of Councilors, the upper house of the Japanese Diet this summer. It is expected that she will run as an independent from the Tokyo voting district.
Yuko is a conservative who has been an activist against the separation of the so called “A-Class War Criminals” from Yasukuni Shrine. She advocates the legal illegitimacy of the Tokyo Trails, the realization of the Emperor again visiting Yasukuni Shrine, as well as sufficient care for elders. She has authored books such as, “祖父東條英機『一切語るなかれ』” (My Grandfather Hideki Toji “What Musn’t Be Said” [I'm not sure if that's an appropriate translation -- anyone who knows better, please say so]).
